The Egyptian Businessmen’s Association (EBA), headed by Ali Eissa held an expanded meeting with Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Chairman Omar Radwan to discuss economic developments, the performance of Egypt’s stock market, recent regulatory and technical developments, and the latest financial instruments.
During the meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the EGX chairman said EGX’s market capitalization had surpassed EGP 4.3 trillion, while average daily trading volumes reached historic levels of nearly EGP 10 billion, reflecting strong liquidity and the market’s appeal to domestic and foreign investors.
Radwan said EGX is ready for major anticipated offerings, including those of Banque du Caire and Misr Life Insurance, noting that their listing and offerings would diversify investment opportunities, broaden ownership, boost trading activity, and increase the exchange’s market value.
He also highlighted recently approved tax incentives aimed at supporting the capital market and stimulating trading, including the shift to a simplified fixed stamp tax instead of the capital gains tax, a reduction in stamp tax for non-residents, an exemption for market-making activities, and investment incentives for companies listing their shares on EGX.
The EBA chairman underscored the association’s longstanding relationship with EGX and its commitment to strengthening cooperation between the business community and the stock exchange, highlighting EGX’s role as a key platform for financing and economic growth.
He said innovative financing instruments offered by the exchange can help companies expand, raise capital, and attract domestic and foreign investment, while enhanced cooperation can promote transparency and governance, improve market efficiency, and create an attractive and sustainable investment environment.
The meeting concluded with a review of efforts to strengthen cooperation with global exchanges and the impact of international market movements and foreign investment flows on EGX.
