“Cairo will host the 52nd Arab Labour Conference in Cairo from Sept 13 to 20, with representatives of governments, employers and workers from across the Arab region,” Labour Minister Hassan Raddad said on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Raddad said that Egypt will chair the conference, which will address employment, job creation, social protection and other labour-related issues facing Arab countries.
Egypt currently chairs the board of directors of the Arab Labour Organization (ALO), a specialized organization of the Arab League headquartered in Cairo. The minister added that the conference will bring together the three main parties in the labour market, including governments, employers and workers, to discuss regional cooperation and common labour challenges.
Raddad also noted that Egypt operates labour representation offices in several Arab countries to support Egyptian workers abroad, protect their rights and assist them with employment-related matters.
