Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the government headquarters in the New Capital to discuss a number of political, economic, and social issues on the government’s agenda, as well as review the implementation of presidential directives assigned to the government in an optimal and timely manner.
The Cabinet is set to discuss several issues, including preparations for the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday, as well as the latest regional and international developments. It will also review presidential directives to ensure the availability of strategic commodities for several months, continue efforts to curb inflation, and further increase spending on health, education, and social protection sectors.
The meeting will also address efforts to stabilize markets, ensure the availability of food commodities, and continue implementation of major national projects across governorates. It will further review measures related to expanding social protection programs, supporting the most vulnerable groups, and advancing education, health, comprehensive development, investment, export growth, and industrial localization in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
In addition, the Cabinet will follow up on previously taken measures regarding investment, industry, and export files, expansion of agricultural land, allocation of industrial land for investors, social security coverage, tax-related issues and development plans across various state sectors, alongside efforts to secure citizens’ needs and improve services for low-income groups.
