Egypt's Cabinet Media Center published a series of infographics highlighting the manufacturing sector's transition from contraction to growth, supported by the government's efforts to develop industrial infrastructure and expand factory construction. The government continued implementing policies to support the industrial sector, recognizing industry as a key driver of sustainable development and a cornerstone of economic growth and competitiveness These include expanding industrial zones and complexes, making serviced industrial land available, promoting industrial localization and encouraging investment, production and exports.
According to the infographics, these measures have improved the sector's performance both domestically and internationally while strengthening its contribution to economic growth and job creation. The infographics noted that Egypt's industrial sector received positive international recognition, with the country improving its score in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Local Industry Diversification Index to 91.5 points in 2025, up from 90.8 points in 2024, ranking 34th globally.
Egypt also advanced three places in WIPO's High-Technology Exports as a Share of Trade Index, ranking 82nd in 2025, compared with 85th in 2024. In addition, the country climbed 32 places in the organization's High-Technology Imports as a Share of Trade Index, ranking 78th in 2025, up from 110th in 2024.
The infographics further highlighted Fitch Ratings' assessment that the manufacturing sector was the largest contributor to Egypt's economic growth during FY 2024/2025 and is expected to continue supporting growth in FY 2025/2026.
