Governor Abba Yusuf has congratulated the government and people of France on their National Day, calling for deeper ties between Kano State and the European country. The governor spoke during an event at the French Embassy in Abuja to mark the celebration. He led a delegation of senior officials from Kano State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, the governor said the relationship between Nigeria and France remains strong and beneficial. “On behalf of the Government and people of Kano State, I congratulate the Government and people of France on their National Day.
I wish you continued peace, prosperity, and progress,” Yusuf said. He praised the existing partnership between both countries, noting its role in driving development and cooperation. “The relationship between Nigeria and France has continued to promote development and mutual understanding over the years,” he said.
The governor urged both sides to expand cooperation in key sectors. “We seek stronger collaboration in agriculture, renewable energy, water resources, environmental protection, and education,” he said. “Kano remains committed to working with international partners to attract investment, improve public services, and enhance the well-being of our citizens,” he said. He added that closer ties with France would support innovation and growth in the state.
