The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has set a new revenue record, collecting ₦28.1 billion in a single day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The figure surpassed the command’s previous record of ₦20.1 billion set in September 2025 and came barely three weeks after it reported a record ₦323 billion collection for July.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Sulaiman, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, attributing the performance to improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions, reforms and more efficient digital Customs processes.
Reacting to the record, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, said the achievement went beyond revenue figures, stressing that increased Customs collections would strengthen the Federal Government’s capacity to fund infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.
