Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil discussed with Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad ways of strengthening cooperation between the two ministries in the fields of vocational training, skills development, youth empowerment and improving young people's readiness to enter the labor market in line with national development goals and the needs of both local and regional labor markets.
The meeting took place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Ministry of Youth and Sports headquarters in the New Capital. During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed several programs and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports aimed at enhancing young people's professional and technical skills including the “develop and change” initiative, the “employment Egypt” initiative, job search clubs, digital development centers, digital communities, the “Meshwary” program, Shabab Balad Academy, “teach me a handcraft” initiative, vocational and technical conversion training programs as well as the “innovative youth” academy.
Nabil emphasized that preparing young people for the labor market remains one of the ministry’s top priorities, reflecting the Egyptian state's vision of investing in human capital and building capabilities. He noted that the ministry’s programs and initiatives are designed to equip youth with the skills needed to compete effectively in an increasingly dynamic labor market.
For his part, Raddad stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and integration between the two ministries, given their shared national objective of developing youth capabilities, preparing them for active participation in the labor market and supporting Egypt’s broader development efforts.
Raddad reviewed the Ministry of Labor’s ongoing efforts to modernize the vocational training system and align it more closely with labor market requirements, in addition to expanding digital transformation initiatives and automating public services to improve efficiency and service delivery.
The Minister also proposed several areas for enhanced cooperation, including joint youth training and employment programs, organization of employment fairs across governorates, and greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workforce. He highlighted the potential for leveraging the Ministry of Labor’s vocational training centers alongside the nationwide network of youth centers to achieve these goals.
Raddad proposed cooperation on regulating the status of foreign athletes and administrative personnel working in sports federations and clubs, ensuring compliance with labor market regulations and safeguarding the rights of all parties involved. Both ministers agreed to begin preparations for signing a cooperation protocol in the near future.
The agreement will focus on implementing joint programs and initiatives in vocational training, labor market readiness, entrepreneurship and employment, to maximize available resources and create greater economic opportunities for Egyptian youth.
