NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has honored more than 30 train conductors and ticket cashiers for their emergency response during widespread flooding across Kazakhstan. Zhanibek Taizhanov, CEO of Passenger Transportation JSC, presented letters of gratitude to the staff members whose rapid mobilization enabled the safe evacuation of approximately 23,000 people from at-risk zones.
The railway operator deployed 113 supplemental railcars to accommodate the surge in demand, with particular attention given to moving vulnerable populations. Over 1,500 children were transported to health centers and seasonal camps under the coordination effort.
Beyond civilian evacuation, Passenger Transportation JSC coordinated with government authorities to provide dedicated transportation for military personnel and emergency rescue workers operating in the affected regions.
During the crisis period, conductors and ticket cashiers maintained continuous operations around the clock. Many staff members voluntarily reported for shifts on their scheduled days off, demonstrating commitment to public service under difficult conditions. The company highlighted these individuals' professionalism and willingness to assist during the natural disaster response.
The recognition underscores the critical role Kazakhstan's rail infrastructure played in the national flood response, providing free-of-charge evacuation transport as part of broader emergency management efforts.
