KTZ Express JSC, a subsidiary of NC KTZ JSC, took part in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) Working Group meeting held in Tbilisi, Georgia, where progress on the strategic corridor was assessed and next-year targets were set.
According to results for the first 11 months of 2024, the TITR corridor handled approximately 50,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of containerized freight. A total of 328 container trains traversed the route during this period, with 304 of those originating from the People's Republic of China. The figures reflect growing utilization of the Middle Corridor as an alternative to northern overland routes connecting Asia and Europe.
Meeting participants highlighted the steady rise in transportation volumes and the operational efficiency of initiatives being carried out by the national railway carrier. Development plans and projected cargo targets for the coming year were finalized during the session, with a focus on service enhancements and expanded transit container capacity.
The TITR route crosses Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and onward to Turkey and European destinations, positioning the corridor as a key link in multimodal Eurasian trade flows.
