Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, a meeting with officials of TMT for Multi Trading & Distribution (TMT), which manages modern retail chains in Egypt, including Circle K outlets, to explore cooperation in the Ministry’s “CARRY ON” project aimed at upgrading ration outlets into modern retail hubs.
The meeting reviewed the project’s vision to modernize supply outlets by applying advanced operating, management and marketing standards to enhance consumer experience and improve the efficiency of goods distribution. Discussions also covered cooperation with the Internal Trade Development Authority on expanding modern commercial activities, including the potential introduction of the French hypermarket chain Monoprix to the Egyptian market, leveraging international expertise to attract investment and enhance competitiveness in the domestic trade sector.
The minister stressed the importance of partnerships with major retail operators to support the “CARRY ON” project and expand modern commercial models, including franchise systems, to improve service quality and attract investment. Both sides agreed to continue coordination and further study areas of cooperation in the coming period.
