Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Waleid Gamal el Dein met on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, with Sweden’s Ambassador to Egypt Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt to discuss investment opportunities and areas of cooperation within the economic zone. For his part, Gamal el Dein reviewed opportunities in sectors including ports and logistics, automotive industries, data centers, and green fuel projects, noting that the zone benefits from a strategic location, integrated industrial and port infrastructure, skilled labor, and streamlined investor services.
He added that these advantages have helped attract investments exceeding $16 billion over the past four years. Meanwhile, the Swedish ambassador said that several Swedish companies are already operating in Egypt and noted growing interest among Swedish businesses in exploring opportunities within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
