Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his accompanying delegation on Sunday, August 9, 2026, reviewed a proposed site for establishing a smart government services complex and an integrated urban community during a tour of Matrouh Governorate to inspect a number of service and development projects.
Madbouly stressed that the project should provide citizens with advanced smart government services, while making optimal use of Matrouh's resources and assets. He called for the project to comply with the latest urban planning and sustainable development standards, supporting efforts to improve public services and quality of life while strengthening Matrouh's position as one of Egypt's key tourism and investment destinations.
Matrouh Governor Mohamed El-Zamlout posted Madbouly on a detailed briefing on the proposed project to establish the smart government services complex near the Olympic Village in Marsa Matrouh, covering about 128 feddans. The project aims to support urban development, make better use of land and public assets, provide integrated services to residents and visitors, and boost investment opportunities in the governorate.
Zamlout said the project will create an integrated urban community comprising residential, service and investment components, including a residential area, hotel, medical complex, educational complex, commercial and administrative zone, shopping mall, entertainment area, amusement park, public park, government and administrative complex, mosque, nursery complex and conference hall.
He stated the project forms part of the governorate's plan to promote sustainable development, improve land use, attract further investments and create new jobs, while applying modern smart urban planning and development standards.
