Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated on Sunday, September 6, 2026, an expansion of the FLARE factory, part of SIRAJ Group, for modern lighting systems at the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s Sokhna Industrial Zone (SCZONE), with total investments of $7.5 million.
Madbouly said the state attaches great importance to localizing advanced engineering industries directly linked to urban development and infrastructure projects, given their key role in implementing national projects in line with the latest technical standards.
Manufacturing modern lighting systems locally would help meet domestic demand for high-efficiency products, strengthen reliance on national industry in development projects, and support the state’s drive toward more energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, the premier said.
The inauguration came at the conclusion of Madbouly’s tour of the Sokhna Industrial Zone, affiliated to the General Authority for the SCZONE. The expansion is located within the industrial developer Orascom Industrial Parks and specializes in producing modern LED lighting units for indoor and outdoor use in commercial, industrial, service and residential facilities, as well as green spaces.
The expansion was built on an area of 1,100 square meters with investments of $7.5 million. The chairman of the General Authority for the SCZONE said the factory’s expansion demonstrates the ability of national companies to expand in specialized engineering industries within the economic zone, keeping pace with growing demand for modern lighting solutions across development projects.
He added that the project contributes to boosting local manufacturing of modern lighting systems and reflects the authority’s efforts to attract technology-based industries and develop industrial products, supporting the diversification of the industrial base within the Suez Canal Economic Zone and meeting the needs of local and regional markets.
During his tour of the factory, Madbouly inspected its testing laboratories and dedicated equipment, as well as the electronic components production line. He also viewed laser metal processing, aluminum injection-molding machines and the finished products. For his part, Chairman of the factory’s Board of Director Nabil Youssef said the FLARE project, part of SIRAJ Group, now occupies a total area of 3,000 square meters following the expansion, with total investments reaching $11 million.
The project provides around 150 direct and indirect jobs, he said. Youssef added that annual production capacity has reached 600,000 lighting fixtures and one million electronic boards, in addition to 2,500 tons of aluminum injection molding, 3,000 tons of electrostatic metal painting and 7,500 tons of metal forming.
