Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that the African continent is convening at a time of accelerated global economic and technological transformations, noting that Africa offers real opportunities and the capacity to become an active part of the new global economy.
This came during Madbouly's speech at the welcoming session of the inaugural New Alamein Africa Business Forum, held in New Alamein City and set to be inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, with wide participation from African officials, business leaders, and international institutions.
Madbouly welcomed participants and highlighted that the forum serves as a sustainable platform for dialogue between governments, the private sector, and financial institutions to be held biennially in Egypt. He emphasized that New Alamein's selection underscores the role of vision and infrastructure investment.
Madbouly pointed out that Africa possesses immense natural resources, a broad market, and a young population, yet faces challenges including financing costs and infrastructure needs. He stressed the importance of turning potential into economic value through actionable projects and private-sector partnerships under Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Madbouly commended Egypt's efforts during its leadership of NEPAD's steering committee to foster continental development and shared prosperity.
