Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed the government’s strong focus on developing Egypt’s Northwestern Coast and its commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to carry out integrated development plans aimed at maximizing the region’s diverse potential and resources.
Madbouly said development efforts would extend beyond tourism to encompass various economic and development activities, including the establishment of more residential, productive and development communities along the coast, with the aim of attracting further investment across sectors.
He made the remarks during a meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026, to review efforts to develop the Northwestern Coast, attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa El-Menshawy, Matrouh Governor Mohamed El-Zamlout, Ahmed Hisham Fadel, Assistant Adviser to the President for Urban Planning, Nasser Fawzy, Director of the National Center for Planning State Land Uses, and a number of officials from relevant ministries and government bodies.
Madbouly said the meeting aimed to review the status of land inventories, allocations and existing developments, as well as approved urban boundaries and their expansions in the Northwestern Coast and its urban hinterland. He added that the efforts form part of an integrated development plan for the promising region, covering economic, tourism, industrial, agricultural and urban activities.
The plan would help improve the quality of services provided to citizens through various sectors and vital utilities, while providing infrastructure to encourage investors to increase their investments and capitalize on the region’s opportunities and potential, thereby supporting development and urban expansion.
