Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said international companies and financial institutions have welcomed Egypt’s completion of all payments owed to foreign partners in the petroleum and natural gas sector, describing the move as a boost to investor confidence and the country’s investment environment.
In his remarks during a press conference in Beheira Governorate on Saturday, June 13, 2026, Madbouly said that the government paid the final outstanding installment to foreign energy companies on June 10, reducing arrears to zero. He noted that settling all outstanding dues in less than two years, despite economic and regional challenges, reflects Egypt’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations to investors and international partners.
Madbouly also added that the repayment plan received continuous follow-up from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi throughout the past two years to ensure its completion.
