Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed the importance of maintaining continuous communication and coordination between the government and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to ensure the integration of economic, financial, monetary and sectoral policies and measures in a manner that supports economic growth targets in line with the state’s vision and the priorities of the government program.
Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, with CBE Governor Hassan Abdalla to discuss joint work files as part of regular coordination between the government and the central bank on priority economic issues. The meeting reviewed a number of indicators related to the current performance of the Egyptian economy, foremost among them the level of foreign exchange reserves to secure strategic needs, in addition to developments in the global economy amid the current challenges facing countries worldwide.
Discussions also addressed ongoing coordination efforts between the government and the central bank regarding the enhancement of strategic reserves of key commodities, efforts to curb inflation rates, and measures to increase foreign currency inflows to ensure the availability of the requirements needed to support the growth of industry and other priority sectors.
