The government meeting placed particular emphasis on expanding domestic gas infrastructure to satisfy growing internal demand. Bektenov identified three flagship projects as critical to the country's energy strategy: the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant, the Zhanaozen Gas Processing Plant, and the second line of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent main pipeline.
Under the directive, the Ministry of Energy, working in coordination with state-owned QazaqGaz and KazMunayGas, must complete the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant—designed with a processing capacity of one billion cubic meters per year—by the end of 2026. Separately, the Zhanaozen Gas Processing Plant is slated for commissioning in early 2027.
The Prime Minister underscored the strategic significance of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent pipeline expansion, calling it a cornerstone of Kazakhstan's long-term gas transport strategy. The Ministry of Energy has been tasked with ensuring rigorous coordination and oversight to keep all three projects on their respective timelines.
