Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the recommendations and outcomes of Egypt Forum 2026. In his remarks at the forum's closing ceremony, attended by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Madbouly said that the recommendations had been adopted as presidential directives, with the government instructed to develop practical measures and implementation timetables.
Madbouly thanked Sisi for sponsoring the forum, participating in its discussions and reviewing proposals from sessions he did not attend. He said that the President had instructed the government to translate the recommendations into concrete measures based on discussions between officials, experts and other participants.
Madbouly announced plans to raise Egypt's minimum wage from EGP 8,000 to EGP 15,000 by the 2029/2030 financial year, as part of efforts to improve incomes and ease financial pressures on households. He also outlined measures to improve the financial conditions of employees in education, healthcare and higher education.
For teachers, the government plans to introduce a gradual programme of financial incentives aimed at raising their minimum income to EGP 15,000 within two years. The recommendations also include increasing average financial incentives for medical workers by at least 50% by the end of the 2029/2030 financial year.
Madbouly said the government would also work to improve the incomes of university teaching staff and their assistants to support higher education and scientific research. The Prime Minister announced plans to develop 600 technical schools in partnership with the private sector, with financial incentives available to participating businesses until 2030.
The programme aims to improve vocational training, provide students with practical and technological skills and prepare graduates for labour market requirements. Madbouly also announced plans to expand the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools from 103 to 500 within three years.
