Dr Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, paid an extensive visit to the headquarters of E-Finance for Financial and Digital Investments, in which the National Investment Bank (NIB) holds a 21.8% stake. The visit included a comprehensive meeting with Eng.
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, in the presence of the executive leadership of the company and the ministry, to discuss the Group’s future expansion plans and its role in supporting Egypt’s digital infrastructure. During the meeting, Dr Rostom praised E-Finance’s remarkable growth and its successful transformation from a single company into an integrated investment group comprising several subsidiaries, making it a technical arm and strategic partner in implementing major national projects.
He said NIB’s 21.8% stake in the Group represents “a model of successful institutional investment” that strikes a careful balance between generating high economic returns, creating new jobs and delivering sustainable development impact in line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The minister stressed that completing the electronic payment and collection ecosystem and developing government services for citizens are no longer luxuries but fundamental pillars for enhancing transparency and building a more efficient and competitive economy.
He affirmed that the ministry is working intensively to maximize the role of NIB and its affiliates in supporting leading national entities in this vital sector. For his part, Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan welcomed the minister’s visit, saying the Group is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy focused on maximizing its technological and financial capabilities and consolidating its position as a comprehensive provider of secure digital solutions in Egypt and the region.
Sarhan explained that the Group’s contributions now extend to managing and operating the digital infrastructure of some of the country’s most important national projects, based on an integrated vision aimed at improving spending efficiency and facilitating revenue collection.
Foremost among these projects are the technological system for the Universal Health Insurance Program and the Egyptian government’s financial network. He emphasized that these projects go beyond being mere technical solutions to serve as vital arteries that ensure the rapid delivery of services to citizens and enhance the efficiency of financial operations and government spending, with a positive impact on the strength of the national economy.
