Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom stressed the need to continue upgrading digital services and improving their efficiency as part of the country's broader drive toward comprehensive digital transformation and modernization of government administration.

During a visit to the Egyptian planning system information infrastructure center on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Rostom reviewed progress on digital transformation projects and government service development programs overseen by the center. He said an integrated geospatial information infrastructure is a cornerstone of effective development planning, providing accurate data to support policymaking, strategic planning, and project monitoring.

Rostom noted that the ministry had adopted a national project to integrate Egypt's geospatial information infrastructure to enhance development and investment decision-making and accelerate digital transformation. The center is currently implementing several national projects, including digital health records, modernization of the National Investment Bank's information systems, judicial governance initiatives, upgrades to citizen service centers, and expansion of digital real estate registration and Egypt Services outlets.
