New crop grain exports to Central Asian countries via the KTZ network increased by 36% From September 2024 to January 2025, the volume of new crop grain transportation amounted to 6.1 million tons, which is 47% more than the same period in the previous year. The bulk of the transported grain is export deliveries, which increased by 53%, reaching 4.8 million tons.

Domestic transportation also showed positive dynamics, increasing by 28%, to 1.3 million tons. The largest volumes of grain were sent to Central Asian countries - 2.7 million tons, which is 36% more than the previous year. Deliveries to Iran via the ports of Aktau and Kuryk increased 29 times, reaching 576 thousand tons.

Transportation to Russia is carried out without restrictions. Exports and transit to the Russian Federation amounted to more than 660 thousand tons, which is 94% more than in the same period of 2023. In January 2025, 1.1 million tons of grain were transported by rail, which is 35% more than in January last year.

Exports increased by 36%, reaching 839 thousand tons, and domestic transportation increased by 33%, amounting to 217 thousand tons. In January 2025, there was an increase in exports to Uzbekistan by 23%, to Tajikistan by 18%, to Turkmenistan by 3 times and to Kyrgyzstan by 4 times.

Grain transportation to Iran through the ports of Aktau and Kuryk showed a 23-fold increase, reaching 121 thousand tons. Transit transportation through the ports of the Russian Federation and the Baltic states remained at the level of last year with a volume of 100 thousand tons.

KTZ is ready to increase the volume of grain cargo transportation: the infrastructure, wagon and locomotive fleet are sufficient to transport the declared cargo. Currently, there is a surplus of grain carriers and covered wagons.
