Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Jumblat, held a meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imdad Company Rouhi Al-Arabi, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways for joint cooperation in the areas of energy conservation and carbon emission reduction.
The meeting also explored leveraging the manufacturing and technological capabilities of military production companies and units, in accordance with international standards and environmental specifications (ISO 14064-1) related to carbon emission management. During the meeting, the Minister of State for Military Production emphasized the Ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the private sector in projects supporting the green transition.
This collaboration is a preliminary step towards issuing carbon emission reduction certificates. the Minister noted that the Ministry is working, in line with the directives of the political leadership, to maximize the utilization of available production capacities, deepen local manufacturing, and meet the needs of the domestic market.
The meeting also included discussions on mechanisms for cooperation with companies to develop advanced operational plans aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency. This approach aligns with international environmental standards, contributes to environmental protection, and supports sustainable development efforts.
