Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed progress on a number of joint national projects during a meeting attended by senior officials from both ministries and representatives of relevant agencies.
Gomblat reaffirmed the Ministry of Military Production's commitment to supporting the implementation of national development projects, noting that its affiliated companies possess advanced industrial, technological and engineering capabilities that enable them to establish strategic partnerships in a wide range of sectors.
The meeting reviewed progress on projects being implemented by military production companies and affiliated entities for the Ministry of Health and Population. Gomblat stressed that his ministry is committed to accelerating implementation through regular field inspections and close monitoring, while removing any obstacles to ensure the projects are completed and become operational on schedule.
He said cooperation between the two ministries spans several fields, including the implementation of healthcare infrastructure and construction projects in a number of governorates through the Military Production Company for Engineering Projects, Engineering Consultancy and General Supplies.
Gomblat also highlighted the contribution of Tuya Technology, an affiliate of the Ministry of Military Production, to the automation of the Comprehensive Health Insurance System in six governorates—Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Aswan and Suez, serving approximately 5.6 million beneficiaries.
He described the Comprehensive Health Insurance System as a cornerstone of Egypt's efforts to establish a sustainable, high-quality and equitable healthcare system in line with Egypt Vision 2030, expressing the ministry's readiness to expand cooperation with the Health Ministry, particularly in localizing medical technologies and supporting the development of healthcare services.
For his part, Abdel Ghaffar underscored the importance of maintaining close coordination and holding regular follow-up meetings to monitor implementation rates, address challenges and ensure adherence to project timelines. He said accelerating the completion of the projects remains a top priority given their expected contribution to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting reviewed progress on several joint projects, particularly construction works at the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes (GOTHI), as well as other Health Ministry projects being implemented by military production entities.
The discussions also covered implementation rates, project timelines, financing requirements and payment procedures, with both sides agreeing to hold coordination meetings every two weeks to monitor progress and ensure the timely completion of the projects.
