ASTANA – KMG International, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company KazMunayGas, reported a 73% year-on-year increase in consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to $469 million in the first nine months of 2026, the company announced.
Net profit reached $269 million, up 219% compared with the same period last year. The company’s results were supported by refining operations at Romania’s Petromidia refinery, as well as higher sales volumes across KMG International’s retail businesses. Petromidia processed 4.087 million tons of feedstock during the reporting period.
Average daily processing reached 14,670 tons, equivalent to approximately 97% of the refinery’s designed capacity. Total petroleum product output amounted to 3.977 million tons, including 1.793 million tons of diesel, 1.103 million tons of gasoline and 369,000 tons of Jet A-1 aviation fuel.
The figures highlight the refinery’s continued role in KMG International’s operations, with processing volumes remaining close to its designed capacity. KMG International’s retail companies sold a combined 2.272 million tons of petroleum products, a 5% increase year on year.
The growth was driven primarily by higher wholesale sales in Romania, alongside increased sales volumes in Moldova. Sales of non-fuel goods and services in Romania also rose, increasing 3% compared with the first nine months of 2025. EBITDA in the retail segment reached $87 million.
KMG International said it continues to implement measures to improve operational efficiency, maintain the reliability of its production assets and strengthen its financial stability.
