Kazakhstan further continues to boost its oil and gas chemical industry, expand hydrocarbon deep processing and produce high-value-added products, Qazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Energy Ministry. One of such projects is the construction of a new alkylate production plant in Pavlodar.
The project, valued at 35.5 billion tenge, is being implemented by INTERTRANS C.A. The plant’s annual capacity is expected to reach 97,600 tons of alkylate from 110,000 tons of butane-butylene fraction. Alkylate is a high-octane, environmentally clean component used in K5 standard gasoline.
The project is expected to ensure deeper conversion of raw hydrocarbons and increase added value on petrochemical products. 500 jobs will be generated during construction. Once commissioned, it will create 178 permanent workplaces. Its products will be supplied to domestic high-octane fuel producers, with export potential.
Main technological equipment for the plant will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026. The plant is to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2027. To expand production capacity and boost the country’s petrochemistry, Kazakhstan is simultaneously implementing other major petrochemical projects, including butadiene and polyethylene production.
