Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir met with Aizhan Bizhanova, First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, on Wednesday to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation, Qazinform News Agency cites MONTSAME.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nomtoibayar highlighted the considerable economic potential between Mongolia and Kazakhstan. He emphasized that deeper engagement in Eurasian economic integration, combined with enhanced transport, logistics, and infrastructure connectivity, would be crucial for increasing trade and investment between the two countries.
First Vice Minister Bizhanova reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Mongolia. She noted that Kazakhstan would prioritize support for business-to-business cooperation and work toward creating new avenues for trade and investment.
The discussions focused on potential collaboration in key sectors, including mineral processing, agriculture, manufacturing, trade, transport and logistics, and railway development. Both sides underscored the importance of active participation from both the public and private sectors in advancing mutually beneficial projects.
As Chair of the Mongolian side of the Mongolia-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, Nomtoibayar also announced plans to convene the commission’s next meeting in the near future. The two sides agreed that the upcoming session would provide an opportunity to identify and advance priority areas of bilateral cooperation.
Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakhstan’s SCAT Airlines had launched a regular direct service between Astana and Ulaanbaatar, with the inaugural flight arriving at Chinggis Khaan International Airport.
