Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Strengthen Cooperation in Passenger Transportation A working meeting of the management of JSC Passenger Transportation and JSC Uzbekistan Temir Yollari was held in Astana. The parties discussed the development of interaction and cooperation in the field of passenger transportation between the two countries.

During the negotiations, an agreement was signed on the operation of tourist trains between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and the composition of the working group for the implementation of joint projects was approved. One of the first steps in this direction was the launch of the tourist train "Jibek Joly", organized by the railway companies of the two countries.

Given the high popularity of the route and its importance for both countries, it was decided to continue the development of the "Jibek Joly" project and consider the possibility of opening similar tourist routes in other directions. In particular, a new international route "Astana-Samarkand" is being considered, which will contribute to the further development of the tourism potential of the two countries.
