ASTANA – Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens in Saudi Arabia to exercise heightened caution following attacks on the country’s civilian infrastructure that caused casualties, according to the ministry’s spokesperson Zhanbolat Ussenov. The ministry advised Kazakh citizens to follow instructions from local authorities, avoid airports unless necessary and check flight statuses with airlines before traveling to terminals.
It also recommended avoiding crowded places and high-risk facilities, and postponing non-essential trips where possible. Ussenov also noted that citizens facing emergencies can contact Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Riyadh or its Consulate General in Jeddah through the following emergency numbers.
The ministry urged citizens to follow official updates from Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry and the relevant Saudi authorities. Earlier, the ministry strongly condemned attacks by Houthi militants on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in casualties.
It described the attacks as violations of international law and humanitarian principles. Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry called for an immediate halt to the attacks and urged the parties to resolve the crisis exclusively through political and diplomatic means. Kazakhstan also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its right to protect its sovereignty and security in accordance with the United Nations Charter.
