Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindy met with executives from Ernst & Young (EY) Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to discuss the company's expansion plans in Egypt, including the launch of a regional center to provide IT outsourcing and consulting services from Egypt to markets across the MENA region.
During the meeting, Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and EY MENA signed a memorandum of understanding establishing a framework for cooperation to support the establishment and expansion of the company's operations in Egypt and strengthen the country's capabilities in exporting digital and consulting services.
The expansion is expected to create more than 1,000 specialized jobs over the next three years in consulting and advanced technology services. Hindy said EY MENA's decision to establish the center in Egypt reflects the country's growing attractiveness as a destination for global investment in cross-border technology services.
He added that the expansion highlights the competitiveness of Egypt's outsourcing sector and its ability to attract leading global companies, particularly in high-value services. The initiative is expected to support the growth of digital services exports, create specialized employment opportunities, and reinforce Egypt's position as a regional hub for technology services and business consulting.
He also expressed confidence in the capabilities of Egyptian professionals to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of the company's regional clients and support its future expansion plans. The meeting also reviewed the company's strategy to deliver a comprehensive range of services from Egypt, including business consulting, risk advisory, human resources and organizational transformation consulting, as well as advanced technology services in cybersecurity, digital engineering, data analytics, AI, enterprise platforms, and technology transformation strategies.
EY intends to provide these services to clients across the Middle East and North Africa, leveraging Egypt's competitive advantages and highly skilled workforce. EY is one of the world's leading professional services firms and began operations in the Middle East and North Africa in 1923.
Over more than a century, EY MENA has expanded to more than 8,500 employees across 27 offices in 14 countries.
