Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid said on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, that digitalization and digital transformation represent a key pillar for improving the business environment and simplifying procedures. The minister made the remarks during a meeting with officials of Vodafone Egypt to discuss cooperation opportunities in digital transformation and technological solutions supporting government services and the foreign trade system.
Farid said the ministry is expanding the application of digital solutions and electronically linking entities involved in the trade and investment system, with the aim of accelerating procedures and reducing time and costs for investors and businesses. He added that the “Trade Technology Regulatory Sandbox” represents an important platform for supporting innovation and testing modern digital solutions related to trade and investment systems, stressing the importance of cooperation with the private sector to benefit from advanced technological expertise.
For their part, Vodafone Egypt officials reviewed a number of digital solutions related to linking trade-related entities and developing electronic services, affirming the company’s commitment to supporting the state’s digital transformation and automation efforts.
