Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem held, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, talks with a delegation from Turkey's Gürok Group, headed by the group’s Vice Chairman Esin Göral Argat, to discuss the company’s plans to establish a new industrial project in Egypt specializing in glassware manufacturing.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister for Strategic Affairs Mohamed Sami along with a number of senior ministry officials. During the meeting, the minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Industry’s commitment to supporting serious investors seeking to establish genuine industrial ventures that contribute to technology transfer, job creation and the enhancement of local industrial capabilities.
He emphasized the ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary support to the group and coordinate with relevant authorities to overcome any potential challenges, helping accelerate procedures and facilitate the project’s transition into operation. Hashem also noted that the Egyptian government offers a comprehensive package of investment incentives to the industrial sector, which it views as a key driver of economic development, highlighting the possibility for the group to benefit from export-related incentives in particular.
For her part, Argat underscored the company’s commitment to expanding its investments in the Egyptian market, describing Egypt as one of the group’s most strategic markets in the region and a major gateway for exports to Middle Eastern and African markets. She added that Gürok Group is the world’s fifth-largest producer of glass products and exports its products to nearly 140 countries worldwide.
