The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) of the Egyptian Cabinet revealed, through a series of infographics published on its social media platforms, the main highlights of the Ministry of Industry’s strategy for the period (2026–2030). The strategy aims to transition the vision and governing principles of industrial action into actual implementation through six main pillars that encompass a set of executive programs and measures.
The center explained that the strategy is based on four governing principles: a scientific approach, partnership with the private sector, institutional integration, and strategic balance—thereby supporting the establishment of a more competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
The strategy includes a Strategic Programs Pillar, which comprises eight executive programs: preparing the industrial map, developing legislation and regulations, the productive village initiative, addressing distressed/troubled factories, vehicle replacement and transitioning to electric vehicles, supplier development, small and medium enterprise (SME) development, as well as institutional development.
The infographics highlighted that the Human Capital Pillar focuses on building the necessary capacities to support industry through qualifying technical personnel, expanding industrial apprenticeships and training, and developing institutional competencies, alongside paying greater attention to field-level execution and expanding partnerships with the private sector.
Through the Product Pillar, the strategy aims to boost the competitiveness of industrial products using a scientific approach, enforce regulatory oversight and raise quality standards, develop green supply chains, and localize testing and accreditation services.
The center indicated that the Operations and Procedures Pillar centers on empowering manufacturers and easing industrial activity by providing industrial land and licensing, facilitating investor financing, supporting industrial development and innovation, and working to overcome obstacles facing manufacturers.
The Mechanism Pillar involves preparing an industrial energy map, activating energy service companies (ESCOs) and e-commerce platforms, establishing an integrated production and market database, automating licensing and land allocation procedures, setting up a manufacturer support unit, and developing performance metrics.
The infographics noted that the strategy concludes with the Measurement Indicators Pillar, which aims to track and evaluate performance growth across the industrial sector through key metrics, including industrial production growth, industrial value added, the economic complexity index, and a balanced scorecard.
The center affirmed that the pillars of the strategy reflect an orientation toward linking industrial policies and programs with measurable performance indicators, while strengthening integration between business environment development, human capital growth, and elevating the quality and competitiveness of Egyptian products to support industrial development targets for the 2026–2030 period.
