Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi said that expansion of global companies in Egypt reflects the success of the country's integrated strategy to attract investment and deliver high-value digital services to international markets.

His remarks came during the inauguration on Tuesday of the new regional headquarters of global customer experience and digital outsourcing company Konecta in New Cairo. The new facility is part of Konecta's expansion plan in Egypt, backed by investments estimated at US$100 million, and is intended to serve as a regional hub for the company's operations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

It will provide services in digital customer experience, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, technical support and the Internet of Things (IoT). Hindi said Egypt's selection to host Konecta's first global Center of Excellence for Generative AI is in line with the ministry's efforts to encourage companies to expand exports of advanced technology solutions, particularly AI applications.

He added that the expansion of multinational companies in Egypt's ICT sector contributes to transferring international expertise to young Egyptian professionals, creating high-quality employment opportunities, attracting additional investment and strengthening Egypt's competitiveness as a global destination for high-value outsourcing services.

The minister noted that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology continues to implement policies aimed at developing the outsourcing industry and boosting digital services exports by encouraging investment, enhancing digital skills and preparing qualified talent to meet global market demand.

Konecta Vice Chairman for the Middle East and Africa Ahmed El Harrani said Egypt is more than an operational location for the company, describing it as Konecta's regional headquarters and the home of its first global Generative AI Center of Excellence.
