Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reviewed on Sunday, September 20, 2026, national efforts and plans to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in a meeting with President of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Jeffrey Sachs.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the minister stressed the importance of addressing the financing gap facing developing countries seeking to achieve the goals. Sachs is also a professor at Columbia University.
The meeting also covered a number of key issues, including climate change, sustainable development and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Egyptian national institutions, universities and research centers, as well as experts and partners of the SDSN, with the aim of supporting progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Abdelatty also welcomed the network's participation in previous editions of the Aswan Forum for Peace and Sustainable Development.
