Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the government is open to all ideas and initiatives that support the development of domestic resources and promote economic equity, adding that the government would fully support governorates to help turn funding into tangible improvements in public services.
Speaking during a meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2026, with Aswan Governor Amr Lashin, Kouchouk said "We are working with all state institutions and agencies to strengthen social spending through programs that are more closely targeted to development needs." Hania Shalkamy, the minister's adviser on economic equity policies, said the ministry is committed to improving the efficiency of social protection programs through field studies and implementation mechanisms designed to ensure support reaches the most vulnerable groups.
