Sherif El Gabaly, Head of the African Cooperation Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), said the cooperation protocol signed between the FEI and the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) aims to take economic relations between the two countries to a more practical level and turn cooperation opportunities into joint Egyptian-Ghanaian projects in a number of productive sectors.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Alamein-Africa Business Forum, El Gabaly said the protocol focuses on connecting Egyptian and Ghanaian companies and identifying viable investment opportunities, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, agro-industries, pharmaceuticals and fertilizers, thereby enhancing prospects for joint ventures and supporting industrial integration between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of activating the protocol through the establishment of a direct communication mechanism between the two sides to identify available investment opportunities, coordinate among companies and follow up on proposed projects, contributing to increased trade and investment flows and strengthening the economic and industrial partnership between Egypt and Ghana.
The remarks came during the signing of the cooperation protocol between the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its President Kofi Nsiah, to enhance economic and industrial cooperation and pave the way for joint projects between companies in the two countries.
The signing ceremony was attended by Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Ghana’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Agribusiness; Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations; Ambassador Karim Sherif, Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs; as well as a high-level delegation from both sides.
The protocol was signed as part of the Federation of Egyptian Industries’ efforts to expand its partnerships with African business institutions and open new avenues for Egyptian companies to expand into the Ghanaian market and benefit from opportunities available in African markets, supporting increased exports and strengthening productive integration among African countries.
