The Food Export Council (FEC) said on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, that Egyptian food industry exports to 10 key markets recorded strong growth during the first seven months of 2026, reaching a combined dlrs 1.679 billion, up from dlrs 1.281 billion in the same period of 2025, an increase of about dlrs 398 million.

The council said in a statement that the 10 markets accounted for around 38 percent of Egypt’s total food industry exports from January through July 2026, underscoring the wide-ranging growth opportunities for Egyptian food products across Arab, European, Asian and American markets.

South Korea recorded the strongest growth among the 10 markets, with Egyptian food industry exports to the country jumping 126 percent to about dlrs 38 million, compared with dlrs 17 million in the same period of 2025. Spain ranked second in terms of growth, with exports surging 107 percent to dlrs 188 million from dlrs 91 million, an increase of approximately dlrs 97 million.

Exports to the United Kingdom rose 46 percent to dlrs 108 million during the first seven months of 2026, compared with dlrs 74 million in the same period of 2025. Egyptian food exports to Palestine increased 38 percent to dlrs 142 million, up from dlrs 103 million, while exports to Algeria grew 29 percent to dlrs 159 million from dlrs 123 million.

Among Arab markets, exports to Jordan rose 20 percent to dlrs 194 million, compared with dlrs 161 million in the same period of 2025. Exports to Saudi Arabia and Iraq each increased 19 percent. Egyptian food industry exports to Saudi Arabia reached dlrs 363 million, up from dlrs 304 million, while exports to Iraq rose to dlrs 156 million from dlrs 132 million.

Exports to the Netherlands grew 21 percent to dlrs 189 million, compared with dlrs 156 million in the same period of 2025, while exports to China increased 19 percent to dlrs 142 million from dlrs 120 million. The council said the strong performance in these markets reflects the competitiveness of Egyptian food products and their potential to expand their international presence, while consolidating their position in traditional markets and achieving strong growth in promising destinations.

It added that the strong performance will contribute to boosting the sector’s export earnings and diversifying Egypt’s export markets.
