The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) announced that the 245th "Zad Al-Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza" aid convoy, which entered the Gaza Strip on Wednesday July 29, 2026, is carrying more than 2,966 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance as part of its role as Egypt's national mechanism for coordinating aid deliveries to the strip.

The organization said the convoy includes food baskets, relief supplies, medical equipment, therapeutic medicines and fuel needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities in Gaza. The Egyptian Red Crescent added that it has maintained a presence at the border since the beginning of the crisis, noting that the Rafah Crossing has never been completely closed from the Egyptian side.

It has continued to operate its logistics centers and coordinate the delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance, which it said has exceeded one million tons, with the support of more than 75,000 volunteers. According to the report, Israeli authorities closed the crossings connecting to the Gaza Strip on March 2, 2025, following the end of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach an agreement to extend the truce.

On March 18, 2025, Israel resumed intensive airstrikes, ending the ceasefire, and launched renewed ground operations in several areas of Gaza from which its forces had previously withdrawn. The report also states that Israeli authorities prevented the entry of humanitarian aid trucks, fuel, and shelter supplies for displaced people who lost their homes during the war, and refused to allow heavy machinery needed for debris removal and reconstruction into the Gaza Strip.

Aid deliveries resumed in May 2025 under a mechanism implemented by the Israeli authorities and a US security company, despite objections from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which said the mechanism did not conform to the established international humanitarian framework.
