Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly extended his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian people on the approaching Eid Al-Adha, praying that the occasion brings further stability, progress and prosperity to the Arab and Muslim nations. This came as Madbouly chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the government headquarters in the New Capital to review a number of national files.
The premier stressed the need to intensify preparations for Eid Al-Adha across all governorates, including activating 24-hour operations rooms, ensuring readiness of utilities, securing sufficient commodity supplies, and preparing public beaches and parks for citizens.
Madbouly noted that the integrated mega project reflects the state’s strong focus on agriculture and ongoing efforts to expand cultivated land and increase strategic crop production in line with presidential directives. He said the New Delta project adds more than 20 percent to Egypt’s cultivated area, exceeding the combined agricultural land of four governorates, and provides significant job opportunities for youth.
The premier stressed that President Sisi’s close follow-up was instrumental in completing the project in record time, reflecting a long-term vision for implementing major national projects aimed at building a modern state. He also pointed to the President’s remarks on the private sector’s central role in the New Delta project, reaffirming government support to maximize private investment across economic sectors through enhanced incentives.
Madbouly referred to presidential directives to monitor renewable energy projects to reduce reliance on traditional fuels and achieve a balanced energy mix, positioning Egypt as a regional hub for green energy. He further highlighted President Sisi’s phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, congratulating him on assuming office and reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation.
The Prime Minister also reviewed his inspection tour of development projects in Cairo Governorate, stressing continued efforts to revitalize Historic Cairo to restore its cultural and heritage value.
