Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid said that Egypt is paying great attention to supporting productive and export-oriented industries, stressing that Egyptian manufacturers have the potential to expand and compete in markets around the world. The Minister made his remarks during his visit to Alex Apparels' garment factory in Alexandria, where he said the government continues to improve infrastructure and investor services within free zones to attract new investments and support business expansion.
Farid praised export-oriented factories operating in Alexandria's free zones, describing them as successful examples of Egyptian industry and important contributors to economic growth and employment. For their part, the company officials said Alex Apparels exported goods worth $163.5 million in 2024, rising to $226.9 million in 2025.
Exports reached $96.9 million during the first months of 2026, reflecting continued growth in the company's international business. They added that total investments in the project amount to $61.4 million, highlighting investor confidence in Egypt's business environment and the growth potential of its industrial sector.
