EgyptAir Training Academy signed on Friday, July 24, 2026, an agreement with global training solutions provider Acron Aviation to acquire the latest Airbus A320neo full-flight simulator, marking a major step in the carrier's efforts to modernize its training capabilities.
The signing ceremony was attended by EgyptAir Holding Chairman and CEO Capt. Ahmed Adel and Acron Aviation CEO David Coward, in the presence of Ayman Thabet, Head of Planning at EgyptAir Holding, representatives of the British Embassy in Cairo, and officials from both companies.
The agreement was signed by Capt. Walid Soliman, President of EgyptAir Training Academy, and Nick Bendal, Acron Aviation's General Manager for Training, on the sidelines of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the United Kingdom. The deal renews the strategic partnership between the two sides and forms part of the academy's plan to upgrade its technological infrastructure and expand its training capabilities in line with the rapid developments in the aviation industry, while preparing pilots to the highest international standards.
Following the signing ceremony, EgyptAir delegation toured Acron Aviation's training center, where it reviewed the company's latest flight simulators, advanced simulation technologies and digital training solutions for pilots and cabin crews aimed at improving training efficiency and operational safety in line with global best practices.
The delegation also attended a presentation on the latest innovations and technical capabilities of modern flight simulators and their role in supporting advanced training programs and meeting the needs of airlines and training centers worldwide. The two sides held extensive discussions on future cooperation and the integration of the latest simulation technologies into EgyptAir Training Academy's programs to enhance workforce readiness and keep pace with developments in the global aviation industry.
Capt. Ahmed Adel said the acquisition of the new simulator represents a qualitative addition to the academy's capabilities and reflects EgyptAir's commitment to investing in the latest training technologies to improve training quality and develop human resources in accordance with international standards.
He added that renewing the partnership with Acron Aviation reflects the mutual trust and longstanding cooperation between the two sides, noting that introducing the A320neo simulator is a strategic step that strengthens EgyptAir Training Academy's position as a leading regional center for pilot training in the Middle East and Africa and enhances its ability to provide advanced training programs that meet the needs of airlines and aviation institutions in Egypt and abroad.
The acquisition comes as part of EgyptAir's strategy to expand its training business as a key driver of revenue growth and competitiveness by upgrading its training infrastructure with the latest flight simulators and attracting trainees from Arab and African markets.
