Assistant Foreign Minister for International, Multilateral, and Bilateral Development Cooperation Ambassador Khaled Anis discussed with a delegation from the South Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), affiliated with the Export-Import Bank of Korea, ways to boost economic and developmental cooperation and support priority projects.
The two sides exchanged views on current and future cooperation files, particularly in green infrastructure, transport, and sustainable development. They also underscored the importance of continuous coordination to advance bilateral cooperation frameworks in line with Egypt's priorities.
In a separate meeting, Ambassador Khaled Anis discussed with officials from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) ways to enhance strategic cooperation and support foreign investments in Egypt. The Assistant Foreign Minister praised JBIC's role in supporting private sector operations in Egypt.
Both sides expressed their aspiration to start a new phase of strategic cooperation, leveraging both countries' potential to attract foreign investments, particularly in new and renewable energy and industry. Discussions also touched upon expanding JBIC's activities in Egypt to benefit from Japanese technology in priority sectors.
For his part, the JBIC representative affirmed that Egypt is one of Japan's top investment destinations, expressing the bank's keenness to expand its projects and support national efforts aimed at improving infrastructure efficiency and driving sustainable development.
The meetings reflected the commitment of all parties to maintain consultation and coordination on various ongoing cooperation files to enhance the effectiveness of developmental partnerships.
