Egypt's ambassador to Russia, met Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chikoshov. The meeting addressed various aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries at both the trade and investment levels, as well as ways to further advance bilateral relations in line with their mutual interests.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation to increase trade volume and encourage mutual investment, amid the steady development of Egyptian-Russian relations within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Particular attention was given to the Russian Industrial Zone project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which is regarded as a major strategic initiative reflecting the depth of economic cooperation between Egypt and Russia. The project is expected to enhance industrial and export capabilities, attract high-quality investments, and create new opportunities for cooperation in manufacturing, technology, and knowledge transfer.
Both sides agreed on the importance of expediting the project's implementation and completing the necessary procedures to bring it into operation according to the planned timeline. They noted that the project will deliver mutual benefits to both countries while strengthening economic and industrial integration.
The project is also expected to support economic development, create job opportunities, and expand access to regional and international markets. The two sides expressed their commitment to continuing joint efforts in the coming period to achieve further progress on economic projects of mutual interest, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations and serving the interests of both friendly nations.
