Egypt and Poland discussed on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, expanding cooperation in food security, agriculture and grain trade during talks between Minister of Supply Sherif Farouk and a visiting Polish delegation led by Deputy Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Malgorzata Gromadzka.
The discussions focused on increasing bilateral trade in strategic food commodities, particularly grains and meat, as well as boosting Egyptian imports of Polish wheat as part of Cairo’s strategy to diversify supply sources. Farouk said Egypt is committed to strengthening partnerships with international partners to enhance food security and highlighted the country’s advanced grain storage infrastructure and efforts to secure strategic commodity supplies.
he two sides also reviewed cooperation in silo construction and technology transfer, aiming at expanding storage capacity and reducing grain losses. Gromadzka described Egypt as a key strategic partner in the Middle East and Africa and expressed Poland’s keenness to expand trade and investment cooperation.
Both sides agreed to continue coordination and explore new opportunities in food security and grain-related industries.
