Labor Minister Hassan Raddad and Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al Abed discussed on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, a number of issues of mutual interest in labor, employment and vocational rehabilitation, as well as the regulation of Egyptian workers’ status in Libya.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference in Cairo. The two ministers discussed ways to activate joint committees and strengthen coordination and cooperation on labor, employment and rehabilitation issues, in a way that serves the shared interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples and supports the regulated employment of Egyptian workers in line with applicable laws and procedures.
The ministers stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation in the coming period to strengthen Egyptian-Libyan cooperation in labor, employment and rehabilitation, regulate labor mobility and provide decent and safe job opportunities. AL Abed congratulated Raddad on his election as chair of the governments’ group at the 52nd Arab Labor Conference, affirming Libya’s keenness to further develop cooperation with Egypt in various labor, employment and rehabilitation fields.
