Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi attended on Sunday, September 27,2026, the launch of the African Mining Regulators Forum in Cairo. Badawi stressed the need for modern regulatory institutions capable of managing geological data and improving the efficiency of mining licensing systems.
The forum, launched on the sidelines of the Egypt Mining Forum 2026, aims to provide a continental platform for exchanging expertise and developing mining legislation and regulatory frameworks. Badawi said the forum would help establish stronger institutional cooperation among African countries and provide a sustainable platform for discussing mining legislation, contributing to a clearer and more stable investment environment.
