Egypt’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, held talks with Ingrid Gabriela Hofen, Director General of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and her accompanying delegation, on ways of enhancing joint cooperation in labor mobility and technical training.

The two sides discussed how to expand the activities of the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (EGC), describing it as a successful model of bilateral collaboration in providing safe and orderly migration pathways. Habashi stressed the importance of creating regular job opportunities in the German labor market, which would help reduce irregular migration, calling for stronger partnerships with German federal states and the private sector in both countries to support the qualification of the Egyptian workforce and open new prospects for employment and training.

For her part, Hofen expressed Germany’s keenness to build on the positive results achieved in recent years, particularly in migration-related cooperation, underlining the significance of ensuring the sustainability of joint projects in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
