Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk discussed on Friday, September 11, 2026, with French officials efforts to expand joint investments and cooperation in Egypt’s agricultural sector, stressing Cairo’s commitment to removing obstacles facing investors and creating a favorable environment for projects focused on innovation and digital transformation.
During a meeting with the French agricultural counselor and the head of the economic section at the French Embassy in Cairo, Farouk highlighted opportunities for cooperation in modern agricultural technologies, irrigation, agro-processing and supply chains. The French side expressed keenness in boosting agricultural trade with Egypt, particularly in fertilizer production and high-yield cattle breeds for meat and dairy.
The two sides agreed to continue coordination through joint technical teams and explore cooperation in potato seed production research and agricultural cooperatives.
