Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid said that Egypt is working to transform into a regional hub for trade and logistics servicing African, European, and Middle Eastern markets. Supporting this goal, the state is working on developing infrastructure, ports, and regulatory environments, the minister added, meeting with a DP World delegation led by CEO and Managing Director for the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia, Levant, and Egypt region Rizwan Soomar to discuss expanding distribution centers and boosting trade integration with Africa.
Meanwhile, Soomar noted that DP World’s networks in key African markets, including Nigeria and South Africa, offer significant opportunities for Egyptian goods to reach hundreds of thousands of points of sale. Soomar said the company is studying the possibility of expanding new logistics projects in Egypt.
